KCWC Day 3

I had a productive day and made two skirts for my baby girl.

The first one is made with the bottom of a pair of jeans and a strip of dark blue jersey from a t-shirt.  The bonus is I can now make myself a pair of capris with the rest of the jeans.

The second comes from a vintage sheet.  The top hem was beautifully detailed and even had a bit of eyelet trim.  I simply made a tube, created a casing and inserted an elastic. Done.

What to make tomorrow?
Thanks for reading!

  1. great use of old jeans! i love the leila and ben dress - i've made several and plan to make one this week.

  2. @Alexis

Thanks Alexis! What I liked the most about the Sweet Little Dress pattern is the fact you iron the hems before sewing the dress together. So much easier to get the rounded neckline to look nice.

  3. pretty pretty! i am a sucker for little brown haired girls and vintage sheets!!! i get in trouble when i come home with more loot from goodwill... my husband wonders how many vintage pillow cases one person needs... but i can't quit buying them... because, lets face it, if you don't get it when you see it, its G O N E. saw you at TRH and clicked because i thought it was toooo cute.

  4. @jenna

    Thanks Jenna!
I'm the same way when it comes to buying vintage sheets and pillowcases. It's addictive!

  5. I love vintage fabrics. They are so soft and just plain lovely. Pretty skirts!

  6. @elizabeth

    Thank you Elizabeth!
They are so soft. The prints were so pretty back then.
    Have a great week!

  7. such a cute project! thanks for stopping by my blog. :)

  8. Sweet skirts! The yellow prints together are darling.

  9. I love the skirts. I made a jean skirt just like that for my daughter awhile back, she wears it all the time since it matches just about everything.

I would love to hear from you. Thanks for your comments.
